Feature of Yamaha FZ X Hybrid

  • The bike is powered by a 149 cc air-cooled engine that produces a maximum power of 12.2 bhp at 7250 rpm and a peak torque of 13.3 Nm at 5500 rpm. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with a chain drive system and a 1-down 4-up gear shifting pattern. The wet multiplate clutch ensures smooth gear changes. With a maximum speed of 115 km/ph and an owner-reported mileage of 53 kmpl, this bike offers a riding range of around 530 km on a full tank. It has a single-cylinder setup with 2 valves per cylinder, a bore of 57.3 mm and a stroke of 57.9 mm, with a compression ratio of 9.6:1. The bike complies with BS6 Phase 2B emission norms and uses a 12V maintenance-free battery. It runs on petrol and does not have riding modes.
  • Braking duties are handled by a single-channel ABS system. The front disc is 282 mm long and gets a 2-piston caliper, while the rear disc is 220 mm long and gets a 1-piston caliper. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and tubeless tyres on both sides—100/80 at the front and 140/60 (R17) at the rear. The recommended tyre pressure for both single and double riding is 29 psi (front) and 33 psi (rear).

  • Suspension components include a telescopic front fork with a 41 mm inner tube and fork boot and a 7-step adjustable monocross suspension at the rear. There is a preload adjuster at the rear, while there is none at the front. The bike is built on a single downtube frame, which provides strong structural support.
  • Talking about the dimensions, the bike has a kerb weight of 141 kg, seat height of 810 mm and ground clearance of 165 mm. Its overall length, width and height are 2020 mm, 785 mm and 1100 mm respectively, and its wheelbase is 1330 mm. The fuel tank capacity is 10 litres and it has a reserve tank of 1.6 litres. The manufacturer offers a standard warranty of 2 years or 30,000 km.
  • The service and maintenance schedule includes the first service at 1000 km or 30 days, the second at 4000 km or 150 days, the third at 7000 km or 270 days and the fourth at 10,000 km.
  • The digital instrument cluster features a 4.2-inch TFT display with brightness control. Although it does not have a touchscreen, it offers Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. It gets a digital speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, trip meter, tachometer and indicators for service reminder, low fuel, hazard warning, high beam and malfunction notification. However, it misses out on gear position indicator, real-time mileage, voice assist and OTA updates.
  • For convenience and safety, the bike gets features like USB charging port, saree guard, traction control, self-start system, automatic start-stop, silent start and side stand engine cut-off. Features like cruise control, keyless lock/unlock and quickshifter are not included. It also gets a silencer cover and kill switch.
  • The lighting is modern with LED headlamp and turn signals, projector headlamp setup, DRL and LED brake/tail lights. However, it misses out on dual lights, hazard lights and shift lights, although a pass light is included.
  • Seat and pillion features include pillion seat, footrest and grab rails, but there’s no backrest or under-seat storage.
